Chem question?

eucalyptus leaves are the food source for panda bears. eucalyptol is an oil found in these leavges. analysis indicates this oil has a molar mass of 154/gmol and contains 77.87% C,11.76%H, and10.37% O. determine the molar mass of the eucalyptol

Here's what you do.

Multiply the percentage of each element by the 154 g/mol molar mass. This would give you the following for each.

C=119.91

H=18.11

O=15.96

Then, divide each number by it's respective molecular weight. This would give you a formula of:

C10 H18 O
